Bookmark Design Contest 2017

Calling all Artists, all Ages!

Island Books Announces…

A Contest!

We love our iconic Island Books bookmark, but every now and again it’s fun to change it up.  This year on National Independent Bookstore Day, we’re launching a bookmark design contest. All ages are welcome to participate and the winning entry will be printed as a special limited edition summer bookmark in full color! The last time we did this was in 2010 but it was only once before and it was fun and we remember who won: Emma Anderson, who was ten at the time.

There is no theme, there are no limits…except it must be 2” x 5” and somehow include the following very pertinent information:

  • Island Books
  • Open Every Day
  • islandbooks.com

All entries must be received by midnight, May 12th.  We’ll be posting the finalists in the bookstore and online for a community vote.  As befits most democracies, the one with the most votes wins. We’ll print 500 bookmarks and distribute them while they last. The winner will be announced May 22nd.

You can sign the front of your bookmark if you want with your name and age, it’s up to you. Just be sure we know how to contact you in case you’re the winner.

Be creative, have fun, and we look forward to seeing your entries!

UPDATE: THE FINALISTS HAVE BEEN CHOSEN!

You can see the final designs below. You have until May 21st to vote for your favorite in person at Island Books or via our online poll:
