One of our favorite storytellers over the past few years, Norm Brecke, has just come out with a new book called The Man Who Loved Dragons, illustrated by Trish Anderson. The two of them will be in conversation, discussing writing and creating for the book, as well as Q & A with the illustrator and authors. This event is appropriate for children of all ages! Join us as we celebrate one of our favorite storytellers from afar.
Before becoming a full-time storyteller, he was an award-winning teacher who told stories daily in his classroom and taught storytelling skills to students after school. He’s told stories professionally from Oregon to South Carolina, LA to BC. He’s been a featured teller at the Powellswood (2012), Art of the Story (2017), and Stone Soup (2018) Storytelling Festivals. Norm proudly narrated for the Seattle Symphony (2012), told at Seattle Art Museum (2014), and at the National Storytelling Networks’ Summit (2017 & 2018). He’s also performed his Lighter "Side of Lincoln" program dozens of times since 2016. He extensive repertoire includes traditional tales, personal narratives, historical tales, and stories in song. His music, zeal, and humor add to any occasion.
